Dragon Juniors


Goals:

  • Assist the Barkly Street Cricket Club to boost junior participation numbers and renew its connections with local community groups
  • Build resilience and social inclusion among participants
  • Offer practical opportunities for Belonging, Mastery, Independence, Generosity through cricket and social events.
  • Sign up 25 new junior participants from September 2011- March 2012
  • Run at least two teams Under 11;s and 13′s
  • Run 2 In2Cricket Programs at the Maribyrnong Reserve and with Footscray North Primary School.
  • Explore the viability of a junior girls team.

Target Group:

Young people and families in the Footscray, Maribyrnong and Inner West region.

Culturally and linguistically diverse students and newly arrived migrants living in the inner Western suburbs in relationship with:

  • Footscray Primary School
  • Footscray West Primary School
  • Footscray North Primary School
  • Maribyrnong Secondary College
  • Footscray City Secondary College
  • New Hope
  • Melbourne Renegades

Primary Cricket Vehicle:

  • Barkly Street Uniting Cricket Club to Enter U11 & U13 teams to play Friday Nights in the Western Region Junior Cricket Association
  • Cricket Australia’s Milo In 2 Cricket Program
  • Local Primary School’s Inter School Sports Competition
