Aaron Law completed a remarkable achievement on the weekend when in his 100th club game he reached his first century for the club in the Under 15’s against Sunshine Heights off the last ball of the day. Chasing a big score of 261 they fell agonising short, finishing on 9/253 with an unbeaten last wicket stand of 73 with Rishi Patel (10 not out).
Aaron’s innings included three 6’s and fourteen 4’s. He came in with the score at 1/16 and retired on 51 before returning to the crease at 9/180 where he and Rishi, who is still eligible for Under 11’s, gallantly tried to chase down the total but in the end it just wasn’t to be.
By achieving his century Aaron became only the second ever junior along with Stephen Smith to complete the unique feat of a century and a hat-trick at junior level. His century was also the first by an Under 15 player.
Congratulations Aaron and let’s hope it’s the start of a season full of runs.
