The Barkly Street Uniting Church Cricket Club web site has been established for the members both present and past, their families and friends and cricket lovers in general with the purpose of providing them with information about our club and the people that make it such a great organisation.
The Barkly Street Uniting Church Cricket Club is over 90 years young, an outstanding achievement in itself for a junior club and a wonderful testimony to the club’s administration and players.
Our seniors are affiliated with the VTCA and our juniors with the West Metro Junior Cricket Association. The club is ideally situated in the inner city suburb of Maribyrnong where our clubrooms and main training facilities are located at Maribyrnong Reserve, Raleigh Road (Melway Ref: 28 B7). Our 1st and 2nd XI’s play on turf at Maribyrnong Reserve whilst our other team(s) play on matting, as do all our junior teams, at Robert Barrett Reserve, Rosamond Road (Melway Ref: 27 K10), next to the new Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre adjacent to Highpoint Shopping Centre.
The club offers cricketers of all standards the opportunity to play at any level that they desire with turf, matting and a one-day team for seniors as well as junior cricket for players aged approximately 9 and upwards as well as the Milo Have-A-Go program for 6 to 9 year olds.
